Wanna Start Capoeira? We got you covered…

    In one week we will be hosting another course for absolute beginners!

    We do these a couple of times of year because we understand that watching some more advanced people, whilst you’re taking your first steps on this Adventure of Capoeira can seem daunting. This way you are surrounded by others also taking their first steps in the art form and hopefully you start to understand that everyone was at this stage at some point. Even the teacher!

    Here are some tips, advice and FAQ answers for anyone considering trying out this amazing art form:

    Am I too old or unfit for Capoeira?

    Never. We have seen people of all shapes, sizes, ages, and backgrounds. All we ask is that you have realistic expectations. You probably won’t be doing backflips within a couple of weeks, but you will get stronger, in better shape, learn new skills, and learn to play Capoeira.

    If there is a pre-existing condition, or injury we should know about, please let us know so we can try to work around it/strengthen the affected area. (Of course the standard check with your doctor to see if physical exertion is for you applies).

    Arrive with realistic expectations (and watch yourself achieve even more!) and check the Ego at the door. Be Patient and consistent, the results will come from there.

    What can I expect?

    Some muscle soreness is very common after the first couple of classes. It goes away pretty quickly afterwards though. You should expect to sweat, and to be asked to try things you might think you’re not able. Keep an open mind. Our teachers work not only with physical limits, but with mental barriers as well.

    Sounds a bit intimidating…

    Naw, it’s pure craic. We truly believe that you’ll be amazed at what you’ll be able to learn in training.

    What Should I bring?

    Comfortable workout gear (Sweat pants and a tshirt work well). An open attitude to learning, and we ask you leave preconceived notions of your own capabilities at home. Oh and water. We want you to stay hydrated!
